Korntal-Münchingen, 11 June 2014: The Supervisory Board of VBH Holding Aktiengesellschaft has appointed Mr. Oliver Rupps (51) as a new member of the Executive Board of VBH Holding Aktiengesellschaft effective 1 July 2014, and has named him as the Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Rupps most recently held the position of chairman at the logistics service provider trans-o-flex Schnell-Lieferdienst GmbH, Weinheim.
Mr. Rupps will be succeeding Mr. Rainer Hribar as the Chairman of the Executive Board, who is stepping down from the Executive Board of the company by mutual agreement as at 31 August 2014. Mr. Jürgen Kassel will continue to be the Director of Finance, IT, HR and Legal on the Executive Board.
In the last few years, Oliver Rupps has held executive board and management positions in various industries and he has broad experience in the areas of logistics and supply chain management (SCM). Moreover, he has handled sales and marketing issues in particular.
Mr. Hribar, who has been CEO for many years, will maintain ties with the company through an advisory mandate.
The Supervisory Board wishes to thank Mr. Hribar for his many successful years at the company, in particular for the reorganisation of the international companies during the past years. When he first joined VBH Holding Aktiengesellschaft in 1996, Mr. Hribar was largely responsible for successfully building up the international activities – especially in Eastern Europe – before being appointed to the Executive Board of the company in 2002. After the completion of the restructuring of the German company he was named CEO in 2008. Mr. Hribar has played a key role in guiding the development and fate of VBH in recent years.
“Moving ahead, VBH will be increasingly dedicated to SCM to fulfil its key role as an international mediator between the hardware industry and window manufacturers,” said the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of VBH Holding Aktiengesellschaft, Prof. Kirchdörfer. “In Mr. Rupps we have found an expert, whose professional experience, especially in the field of process operations and complex logistics solutions, will bring new ideas and stimulus into the VBH Group. Our customers and suppliers will experience this through faster and more efficient process operations.” The employees and managers are open to this strategic reorientation and are looking ambitiously to the future.”
